When you were still around
We'd play hide and go seek
I wasn't allowed to make a sound
And you would never peek
When you were still around
We'd take pictures of the sky
Of the trees and of the ground
Now all I do is cry
When you were still around
We'd stay up late on Christmas Eve
Trying not to be found
Because in Santa Claus we believed
When you were still around
I didn't carry so much pain
It wouldn't surround me
And show up on my pillows as tearstains
If you were still around
And not with God as Mommy says
The world would be our playground
With everlasting days.
